  In 1998 the Columbia, MO music scene was booming and was hungry. Prozac Memory (who were big for a Columbia band, had toured a bunch, had multiple releases, etc.) had just broken up and three of the members had formed a new band with a new bass player, called Breaker Morant. Meanwhile Amputee Set where just some high school kids trying to fit in and trying to learn how to play their instruments. Amputee Set being highly influenced by Prozac Memory was stoked to be a part of this split. Breaker Morant took Amputee Set under their wings and showed them how to put out records, tour, and be a band. Though the recording on the Amputee Set is raw it shows where the band began, the Breaker Morant tracks are amazing and showcase some of the best talent and music to come out of Columbia, MO. Breaker Morant was short lived and this is their only real release. Amputee Set went on to write/record better songs (see their discography on this page as well to get their entire catalog of music).Amputee Set members would go on to form Bald Eagle, New Tongues, The One Inch Punch, The Carry On Killaway, and many other bands. These CDS where long gone, but we just found a box of them. Dive into some old school emo/hardcore/post rock from two of Columbia, MO's finest.
